Kindergarten students are responsible
for decorating our Sacred Space which can be found in the hall near the office. We will decorate this space with our "Horns
of Plenty."
SOCIAL STUDIES
We
will use our problem solving skills to answer the question, "How did Native Americans live?". Students will collaborate
with each other and decide how to make clothing that resembles Native American attire. Students are enjoying the tepee that
is set up during centers.

Our theme involves stories and activities about families. The story "Tortillas and Lullabies" introduces
generations of family members and how they help each other. It is written in English and in Spanish. We continue to explore
letter sounds and are excited to begin "Daily Five", where students spend time during language arts centers doing
the following five activities.
*Read to Self
*Read to a Friend
*Listen to Reading
*Work on Writing
*Word Work
MATH
Please help your child hunt for patterns. They are
everywhere. Finding math in everyday life is fun and important for kindergarten age children. There are also many games on
the internet that teach this important math skill as well. If you need some sites, please let me know.
